How about that tuna for your first one?
Today started off a little on the rough side. There was some swell on the bar, and a northeast wind on top of that. We fished to the East of the inlet and found a school of dolphins and pilot whales that were holding some tuna. On the first pass, we hooked 4 tunas out of 8 bites. Then we circled around and caught one more out of 3 bites. We have got some dates open this week, and the fishing is showing signs of improvement, so give me a call and we’ll take you out.
We went up to the northeast again today and caught a few dolphin. We had a shot at one white marlin and one sail, but we ended up pulling the hook on the white, and the sail never fully cooperated. There were some bigeyes caught on the southern end of the fleet today, and we’ll be looking for them tomorrow.
Saturday we caught a sailfish and some really nice gaffers. Unfortunately, I had a problem with my transmission and had to take Sunday off in order to replace it. Everything went well and we went fishing today. After the morning squalls, we made it down to the Point and found 5 tunas and a white marlin. Meanwhile, East of the inlet, one boat caught 7 out of 9 white marlin. Marlin fishing is shaping up and we’ve got some open dates next week. Give me a call and we’ll take you fishin’ on the Frenzy!
