Now is the time for tuna! 10 fish up to 76# today, and don’t forget the limit of dolphin to boot! We have some dates available, call now to get in on the action!
The last few days have been a little frustrating! We found the Gulf Stream change on Wednesday and had great sport fishing. Thursday, we expected the water to move in across the Point, but it had shoved down the road and we ended up chasing a school of fish 8 miles to the Southeast and ended up with a limit of yellowfin, a few blackfin and a Wahoo. Yesterday the water turned over, 77° green, dead water covered everything from the Point down to the 400 line, and to get the right fishes, using good equipment as the best trout spinning reel is necessary as well. Luckily we found some better water and scrapped out a handful of yellowfins and a few blackfin. Today, I opted to head down below Doamond Shoals. We had a half limit of dolphin, a few yellowfin, and a bunch of blackfin. Pretty water moved in below the Point, and the boats up there caught limits of yellowfin!
September is one of the best months for fishing using the best saltwater spinning reel under 200. The water in the lakes has turned over, the deep cool water rising and the shallow warm water sinking. By September, all species of warm-water fish have spawned, leaving plenty of fresh minnows in the water for natural forage.

Four days, four completely different conditions, luckily we found some fish each day. It looks like the water had straightened out now, we will find out tomorrow! We still have some days open this month, check out our online calendar for availability or call 252-216-9034.
Hermine tore through the Outer Banks this weekend, and the backside of the storm was packing some hurricane force winds that took many of us by surprise. The Frenzy rode the storm out in a slip at Pirate’s Cove, I’m headed back to the Fishing Center today. Hopefully the seas will fall out so we can make our trips this week. We had some great fishing before the storm, let’s hope it continues! We have some days open next week, give me a call or check out our online calendar.
Yesterday we caught sails, today, tuna. That’s charter fishing, take the best available option for the customer every day. The sail bite started off slow and we got a report of some dolphin offshore. By the time we got in the area, there was a pretty good showing of yellowfins and we ended up with one nice one and a few BLT’s. A good trip and a happy charter, let’s see what tomorrow brings! We have dates available next week!
Sometimes, we fly flags! 19 sailfish today on the Frenzy, the most I have ever caught in a day, except for Mexico. The other day we caught a grand slam, one Bluetwo whites, and a sail! It’s been great bill fishing here for the last couple of weeks, and it should hold up for a while, book your trip now for some great Marlin action!
The last month has proven, once again, that you just never know what the Gulfstream will bring us. July is generally good for dolphin, and fair for tuna. This year it was just the opposite and we had some great catches of tuna, mostly on the kite. But it’s time to turn the page, and once again, when one door closes, another opens. Billfish are beginning to show, each day we went looking for them we had several shots and either a white, sail, or blue marlin, sometimes all three! The next month should be prime billfish season and our dates are filling in. Check our online booking calendar for availability.
The wind didn’t look like it would cooperate for kite fishing today and I went looking for a dolphin. We found a change and in short order caught a limit! We started trolling and were surprised with this 79 pound wahoo! There were several blue marlin caught around the Point today, hopefully the trend continues
