It’s been a while since I posted a fishing report, lots of things happening around here. Wicked Tuna North vs South premiered a couple weeks ago, the ratings are great, and hopefully they will be back for season two. Thanks everyone for watching! We had a three day nor’easter and I took advantage of the down time to fix a leaky rudder port. Back to business yesterday, we had a handful of BLT’s, a few blackfin, a wahoo, and a limit of dolphin.
We fished today while hurricane Bertha was approaching from the south. Unfortunately for the Weather Channel, she passed well offshore and had no effect on the East Coast. I feel really bad for you Jim Cantore, I know you love coming to the Outer Banks during hurricane season and frightening off any tourist who may think to support our local economy, but this time we emerged unscathed! We did have some swell offshore, and during the morning it reached the beach making for some great surf making the bar a bit dicey for a few hours. We caught 2 tuna and lost a third after about a 45 minute battle on a TLD 20.

The last few trips have been great of us on the Frenzy. Last week we caught a blue and a white on Wednesday, two out of five bigeyes on Thursday, and today we ended up with 7 yellowfins.
And sometimes you’re the bug! We probably had 18 bites today, and caught 3 tuna. We changed nothing, we just couldn’t hold on to anything today. On the other side of the fleet, there were two boats that caught three blue marlin each! World class fishing here at Oregon Inlet, now is the time to book a charter and get in in the action
We had a great day offshore today. A limit of tiles and a gaffer for the table, and a 125# blue marlin found us in 25 fa. Our crew shot some video, hopefully we can get it posted soon
We had a great trip today with Buddy Hanks and his family today. We started with some amberjacks, and then moved offshore and found some dolphin. A few marlin are starting to show up and we have Wednesday and Thursday open this week, so give me a call 252-216-9034
Bob and Marjorie Venito took their kids Fishin’ on the Frenzy today. They cranked in a bunch of amberjacks, tiles,a barracuda and a nice wahoo. Thanks for the trip and I hope to see you again soon
