Check out today’s catch!
We took the boys from Trane out today and found a few tuna and dolphin. Lots of yellowfin chasing flyers this morning, but it was tough to get a bite. We managed to catch a couple on long baits, and then we hooked a double header of blue marlin! Two fish, both 300-325#, at the same time!
There were some incredible marks of tuna out there today, I can’t wait until they decide to chew!
We missed the past two days due to weather, a nice break in our busy schedule. We were back at it today, and the fleet had a great day all the way around. Calm seas and plenty of fish to go around! There were good catches of dolphin for the boats looking for them, and good numbers of tuna for the rest of the fleet. We were cancelled for Friday and Sunday, so now is your chance to get in on some great action! Call 252-216-9934, book online or call Oregon Inlet Fishing Center 252-441-6301
We had a day off yesterday but right back to fishing today. I went north to a body of water that was holding some yellowfins, mahi, and we even saw some big bluefin up there. The majority of the fleet fished from east of the inlet to down below the Point, and from what I was hearing, it was great fishing all around. June is here, and the fish are biting!
When you choose charter fishing for a career, you get the opportunity to go fishing, entertain customers, and get paid. Unfortunately, all is not as it appears. I have always maintained my boat and engine as well as I can, but sometimes that’s not enough. Last week, my engine failed, three cylinders were scored, and the Frenzy is out of commission for about ten days. The holiday weekend cost me three days on the rebuild, but Gregory Poole CAT is on the job, and I should be running by Friday. In the meantime, I have been running my trips on the Kahuna out of OBX Marina. We had some good fishing this week and conditions are shaping up for a great June!
