We made it offshore through the main span of the bridge this morning. It’s been a struggle all winter, but now the Dredge Currituck is here and we have a decent channel to transit the bridge. Once again, it was good fishing offshore. We ended up with 10 tuna and a half dozen gaffers.
Slick calm, good fishing, and we made it through the main span of the bridge. Life is good!
We had a great day fishing around the Point today. The weather started a little choppy but got nicer as the day went on, and the fishing followed suit. A limit of tuna, a few dolphin, and some mako action. The makos had their wIth us today, one ate half a tuna until three hammers chased him off and finished the job, one chafed us off, and the third one got a dart in his gills, but, after much thrashing and rolling, he bit through the dart line, taking our Skurge of the Sea harpoon with him. Makos 3 Frenzy 0!
We have some dates open this weekend and next week, give us a call 252-216-9034 to book your trip while the fish are here!
It looks like we have the whole ocean to ourselves today, wish me luck!
It’s shaping up to be a great spring. 10 tunas, a wahoo and a gaffer on Saturday and handful of tunas and dolphin on Sunday.
The USCG Cutter Nantucket was on hand to make sure all of our safety gear passed inspection!
We are ready to go for the season. Let’s hope the weather cooperates this weekend. Some yellowfin are being caught, and bluefin are still here!
Now that we have our chairs back on, we can check out our Reel Easy Tridents in a more sporting manner. Check out that bend!
I ordered some Matterhorn white paint, but, in the end, I decided to go with Sunfast red Alexseal for our chairs. It should help camouflage the tuna blood this summer!
Today we fished from the point up and caught 8 yellowfin. There were two bigeyes caught in the fleet also. If you are ready for some tuna action, now is the time to book!
After missing the last couple of days to weather, we are on our way offshore today
