Today was another beautiful day on the Frenzy. The seas were a little rough to start with, but they calmed as the day went on. We hooked THREE BLUE MARLIN today! Sorry to say, we didn’t get a release on any of them. The first one was about 300 lbs, the next one was 150, and the last was 400. We got some great jumps out of the last one, but pulled the hook after about 45 minutes.
We were not booked yesterday, but fishing was excellent. Bigeyes and yellowfins were nibblin’ for most of the fleet. Today was not quite as good as yesterday, but we had a great day anyway. Conditions look good for the next few day, and we are open on Saturday, so give us a call
Bob Cheney and crew had a great day on the Frenzy today. A humpback whale entertained us for a few minutes, and some gaffer dolphin rounded out the day. Yellowfin tuna started chasing flying fish on the 280 rocks late in the day, let’s hope they stay for a while.
The winds that kept us to the dock on Thursday and Friday apparently pushed some fish in to the Point today. The first boats to set out had some tuna bites right away, and I decided to set out just south of the fleet. After about 20 minutes of trolling, we caught one dolphin, set back out and hooked two bigeyes! Once we subdued them, we fished for another 45 minutes or so and hooked a triple. Our fish weighed 153, 138, 117, 108, and 90. Give us a call, we’ve got some open dates this week. Greg
We had the day off yesterday, and apparently we missed the bite. Late in the day the yellowfins showed up outside the Point, and the boats that were there had great catches. Today was a different story. The tuna left sometime last night, so we tried a little deep dropping for tile fsh and sea bass. The conditions were not the best, but we ended up catching a handful for dinner, including a 15 lb grouper.
